The NCE has established a small, cost efficient office with low overheads. All overhead costs as well as seven of the eight programme areas, are fully funded. This means that all other funds raised, donations made and financial contributions to projects go directly into the field – no overheads.

CEO: Dr Chris Brown
Dr Chris Brown, ecologist, and environmental scientist, has over thirty-five years’ practical experience in environmental management and administration, strategic planning and development, project and programme design and coordination. Previously he was Head of the Namibia Directorate of Environmental Affairs (DEA) in the Ministry of Environment and Tourism and played a key role in drafting the environmental clauses in the Namibian Constitution. He was the Executive Director of the Namibia Nature Foundation for 12 years. He serves on several boards including that of Namibia’s Sustainable Development Advisory Council.
Dr Brown holds a PhD Zoology (Conservation biology), BSc Hons degree (Zoology) and a BSc degree (Zoology, Entomology, Biochemistry).
Co-Director: Ms. Henriette Krohne- Frey
Henriette Krohne-Frey is the Co-Director of the NCE. She holds a degree in Commerce in Law and is currently pursuing her Bachelor of Laws (LLB). With over 15 years of professional experience across a broad range of key sectors, she brings deep insight and strategic oversight to the organisation. In addition to leading the administrative functions of the NCE, Henriette plays a central and increasingly influential role in driving the Chamber’s mission and delivering measurable outcomes. Her work directly contributes to advancing Namibia’s Environmental and Sustainable Development agenda.
