The Namibian Chamber of Environment (NCE) is an umbrella Association that provides a forum and mouthpiece for the broader environment sector, that can lobby with government and other parties, that can raise funds for its members and that can represent the sector.
2020 Review & Outlook For 2021: The Provision of Low-cost Land for Housing
The Programme for the Provision of Low-cost Land for Housing was initiated in 2019 by Development Workshop Namibia (DWN) and the Namibian Chamber of Environment (NCE), and is fully supported by the Ministry of Urban and Rural Development (MURD). It is currently assisting 6 local authorities (see details below) in the provision of affordable land for housing, and during 2021 is expected to expand to 15-20 towns across the country.

Operation Blue Rhino
Operation Blue Rhino is a formal cooperation between the Protected Resources Division of the Namibian Police Force within the Ministry of Home Affairs, Immigration, Safety and Security and the Intelligence and Investigation Unit within the Ministry of Environment, Forestry and Tourism.
The Operation was initiated on the 30th of July 2018 to counter the surge in wildlife crime, and particularly rhino poaching in Namibia. Motivated by its ongoing success, the operation has been repeatedly extended. An agreement has been reached to continue the operation for a five-year period, until mid-2025.
Conservation Namibia
The Environmental Information System of Namibia has upgraded and expanded its website to include new features and improve user experience. The upgrades include: A new smart home page, new search engine to simplify and speed up e-library searches, a new section on wildlife crime and Environmental Impact Assessments out for public review, and a new citizen science archaeology section.
Conservation Namibia is a brand new website hosting an online version of the Conservation & Environment magazine from the Namibian Chamber of Environment and Venture Publishing. The site also includes regular blog updates from the world of conservation, videos filmed in Namibia, fact sheets and publications on critical environmental topics. Tippy taps, an invention that consists of a five-litre container filled with soap water and tied to poles, which is then angled against a rope to be used as a pulley as in the picture above, have become a popular alternative for sanitation purposes where water is scarce.
