Panel discussion by the Environmental Economics Network of Namibia (EENN) in cooperation with the Namibia Scientific Society on The introduction of plastic bag levies, an option for Namibia?

This 9th EENN After-Work Talk aims to deepen the discussion on introducing a plastic bag fee as a mechanism to change people’s behaviour towards plastic usage and reduce the amount of plastics in landfills. The After-Work Talk will touch on the following questions:

  1. What are the risks involved if a plastic bag levy were to be introduced?
  2. Is it more economical and environmentally sound to implement a ban or a levy?
